1. Understanding of Body Language

The introduction and Chapter 1, “Understanding the Basics,” in The definitive book of body language introduces the way to predict and reveal what other people are thinking in detail. Even though some politics tell a lie, we can use body language to figure it out. The body language is important part of a conversation. How the author interpreted people can make him do better in his career.

2. Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are

This video teaches us how to change our minds by changing body languages. People or animals usually expanding themselves when they feel powerful and dominant. Otherwise, when people feel powerless, they closed up, wrap themselves up and make themselves smaller. These signals show that movement presents people’s mind. In addition, people can change their minds by changing their pose. “Tiny tweaks can make BIG CHANGES.” The body languages shape what we are.

3. Eye Contact Creates Empathy

Mother’s or father’s eye contact are important for infants to build their emotion connect. The absence of eye contact will cause the children are lake of empathy which presents in their later lives. Eye contact is important for infants. The absence of eye contact may cause the lake of empathy. All the process needs patience, stamina, and selflessness.

4. Arm Signals

This soruce talks about the different arm shapes present the different meaning. We usually think that the This chapter is related to my previous resource, “Your Body Language shapes Who You Are.” Body language does change the minds. Like the previous source mentioned about “Tiny tweaks can make BIG CHANGES.” From this video, it shows that body language does influence how people think about you and how you think about other people. If we want to change how other people are thinking about us, we have to think about what different body languages mean before we present them.

5. Eye Signals

This chapter talks about how to read eye signals and use the eye signals to attract others. Eye plays an important role in facial expression, and it also can influence how people think about you. We can use the pupil-dilation signals to know and attract other people. And this chapter explains about why the eyes are important signals in courtship. Look at a person’s pupils can also know the real feeling of him or her, so you can recognize the liar by their eyes, too. Use the right eyes signals can help you attract people’s attention.

6. The Magic of Smiles and Laughter

The “The Magic of Smiles and Laughter” chapter in this book discusses about the strong power of smiling. There are two muscles in our face control the smile, and you can use these muscle to tell if a smile is enjoy or fake. The zygomatic major muscles control the corner of the mouth and the side of the face. The other orbicularis oculi pull the eyes and make the crow’s feet on the eye’s end. The fake smile just only affects the zygomatic major muscles, but the orbicularis oculi muscle does not move. Otherwise, smiling also means submission. There is an examination shows that it’s the same way to show the teeth when the primate feel happy and fearful.

7. Can You Really Tell if a Kid is Lying?

This video,  “Can you really tell if a kid is lying?” is produced by TED Talks. This video talks about the changes when a person is lying. In his experience to recognize if a person tells a lie is from facial blood. If people tell a lie, their facial blood flow increasingly flow to nose, and decreasingly flow to cheeks.

8. Read My Hips: Body Language Sometimes Louder Than Expressions 

People usually believe that we can judge people by facial expressions. However, the experience shows that it’s hardly to tell if the players are joyous or in despair. This result shows the facial expression are more difficult to predict, and the body language usually shows the obvious signal of players.

9. The Superpower of Body Language

This video portrays how should people present when they are talking to their audience. The tips in this video are very useful not only for speech, but also for face-to-face conversations. They mentioned 3 tips for attracting their audience: posture, gesture and mind the audience.
